SYNOPSIS
Somebody once said marriage has not been properly designed. If we based this assumption on the number of people who want to get divorced every single day all over the world, we should say they’re absolutely right. It doesn’t matter whether they have been married for three months or twenty-five years. The point is that neither women nor men are wiling to endure an unhappy relationship or to live without love. That is why most women find it difficult to make this decision and get divorced. And when they finally come to this conclusion, they feel terribly guilty even through they are absolutely sure there’s no reason why they should put up with one more lie, one more blow or insult. Women are educated to think of the others in the first place; they care about their opinions, the economic hard times they will go through when they’re alone. They think about a lot of things, except about their happiness. To make matters worse, they tend to get into a violent crisis with themselves, their jobs and family, their ex-mother-in law, their children, friends and ex-husband’s new girlfriend. In other words, with the entire world. All these women, without exception, become their own victims. They don’t put into words what they think or feel as a way to protect themselves, for not feeling weak, for fear or just because they believe it’s the only way to survive when they’re involved in a relationship. That’s why each of them becomes the antagonist of their own story. Nothing can be more harmful for a woman than the lack of consistency between her thoughts and the way she feels. That’s why each of them has a motive, a conflict that will make their marriages even more difficult. Besides, the women of this story have more than one element in common. Unfortunately or fortunately, they are separated or about to be, except for Antonia Palacio, the owner of the real estate company where they work. She is the only one that is still happily married after twenty years. The question is: how long will her happiness last?
