Román is Maria Clara's husband. He wasn´t planning to get married, but fell madly in love. However, he soon returned to his old habits with partying and with women. He has a macho view of marriage: as long as he fulfills his obligations as a father and husband, everything is fine. He can´t imagine living the rest of his life with someone other than his legitimate wife. That´s why, when circumstances force him to leave home, his life becomes chaotic, his pride as a wounded male leads him to act like a scumbag and does everything possible to destroy María Clara´s life.

Gloria is María Clara's rival. She secretly hates her because she was always in love with Román and in college, where they both met, they always competed for the first places. Gloria comes from a humble home; she has had to work from a young age to help her family and take care of her sick mother. She is ambitious, resentful and of questionable ethical boundaries. She does everything in her power to make sure María Clara's work in the Hospital is overshadowed and she doesn´t forgive her for marrying Roman.

Álvaro works as a nurse in the hospital, he´s María Clara's best friend. She is like his older sister. He is away from his family because they don´t accept the fact that he´s gay. But Álvaro doesn't really exist, and not even Maria Clara knows it. Behind his false name lies a doctor who decided to impersonate a nurse to avoid getting killed, after Mafia men sentenced him to death because a drug lord he performed surgery on, died on the table. Álvaro is sensitive, loyal and the best of friends.

This beautiful and sensual brunette is the joy of the hospital and another of María Clara's great friends. Solecito does whatever it takes to help this woman who has done so much for her. She welcomed her to the hospital when she arrived from her village as a housekeeper and urged her to study and grow into a nursing assistant. Solecito was raped and pregnant by her stepfather at age 15 and after having an abortion she was repudiated by her mother and siblings. She left her house and has moved ahead on her own. Manuel is the director of the Hospital. Clever and arrogant, he is corruption made human. Although technically he is a good doctor, what really interests him is money, even if the life of a patient is at risk. He is immersed in murky businesses that María Clara suspects and decides to investigate until the last consequences. A commitment in which her closest friends help her. However, skilled as a good criminal, Manuel manages to make it difficult for them to prove his misdeeds. One of the weapons he has in his favor are the secrets he knows about the intimate life of some of María Clara's friends and that he will use against them to defend himself.
