“Mother”, a story magnificently interpreted by Margarita Rosa de Francisco (“Gaviota” in Café Con Aroma de Mujer), is the story of a woman, mother to five children, who works as a house keeping maid at a hotel. After her husband abandons her, she sacrifices her life, her time and her heart in an attempt to bring up her children, all by herself. She thought her life was destined to loneliness, until a light brightens her path. A man comes into her life, someone totally different from her ex-husband. A man who admires her and who recognizes all the love and care which she has given. She, being used only to giving and not receiving, puts her happiness aside, last, behind the hard task of keeping her children on the road of “good”.

Francisco is María Luisa’s second born son, he studies business, works in a mechanical shop and plays basketball. He is forced to sacrifice his happiness and the woman he loves to help his mother and support their family. His hard work and sacrifice will be rewarded in the end.
Nicolás Montero is Javier Villegas “El Javi”
31 years old. Javi is a cold and calculating sly character, an egotistical narcissist. He is absolutely reserved, bitter and hermetic. He enjoys committing murder, just for the thrill of it. Javi is ambitious and wealthy, and doesn’t know the meaning of love or friendship. His intelligence will make him a powerful man in a criminal organization.
Hector De Malva is Don Andres Bernal
44 years old. He’s intelligent, kind and chivalrous. Andrés is an honest, hard working man who has been a good father and husband. He’s always smiling, willing to lend a hand and to sacrifice himself for his friends. Andres is a widow, father of two, and he assumed the role of a mother and father, therefore he acknowledges María Luisa’s struggle to raise her kids. He will fall in love with her.
Margarita Rosa De Francisco is María Luisa Caicedo de Suárez-Bernal
41 years old. María Luis is a strong and humble woman whose only goal in life is to see her children succeed as good individuals. Like most lower-middle class women, María Luisa is an anonymous hero, a tireless worker who struggles to survive on a daily basis with courage and optimism. Life has been hard on her, but she has never given up and she never will. María Luisa, the mother, is as character with profound heroic qualities, because doesn’t fight for money or a social position, but for a truly ethic world.
