SYNOPSIS
Juan Camilo Caballero, better known as “Juan Sin Miedo” (Fearless John), a consummate male chauvinist, acknowledged loverboy and unscrupulous businessman, finds out that Isabella Nieto is an obstacle for him to hold a seat on the Board of Directors of Imperial Caribbean Travels, one of the countries most important tourism agencies. Isabella, with her small neighborhood travel agency is his direct competitor in a contest to win the award of a hotel on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. Juan Camilo decides to play Isabella; approaching her, becoming her friend, seducing her and becoming her lover, in order to steal commercial information that will allow him to achieve his power dream. When he meets Isabella he makes her the victim of a major deceit, discovering that all of his prejudices against women were not so true. He discovers in Isabella an exceptional, valuable, tender and affectionate woman, together with an intelligent person. Despite his convictions, Juan Camilo has to admit that he has fallen in love with this “insignificant” woman. Being in love for the first time in his life, he finds himself in conflicts of fear for love and commitment. He loves his freedom and moreover, Isabella has a child and his convictions are clear: he is not one to raise someone else’s child. But since the heart is stronger than reason he decides to cancel is childish games of betrayal, putting his feelings before business only to find out that it is now too late. For Cristóbal Saénz, one of the executives at Imperial Caribbean Travels, the information that Juan Camilo stole Isabella´s project is the cue that makes way for him to leave his wife, become a major shareholder at the company and be happy with Laura, his seductive mistress. He appropriates of the proposal, making Juan Camilo take the blame, not only of the commercial strategy but also of an amount in the millions. As if all this was not enough, motivated by obsessive jealousy, Cristobal plans to eliminate him since Juan Camilo had taken Laura, the woman that he really loves, to bed. Juan Camilo opens up to Isabella, telling her about his real intentions, which he gave up for love, but Cristóbal beats him to the draw and manages to ensure that she knows his version. Isabella, deeply disappointed and hurt, despises the man she had fallen in love with: not only did he deceive her, but her son as well; she can’t stand that her dreams have been shattered by him. Isabella’s profound feelings of love now become a blind hatred. Juan Camilo, realizing that he is responsible for the destruction of Isabella’s professional and personal life, decides to make amends for the damage done and seeks, by whatever means, to recover her love and promises to discover who lay this trap for him. In attempting this, he is the subject of an attack organized by Cristóbal. Everybody thinks that Juan Camilo is dead, but he miraculously escapes unharmed and decides to go into anonymity in order to fulfill his promise of love and prove his innocence. In the meantime, Cristóbal decides that there is no one better to handle the project he stole and adapted than its original creator herself: Isabella. He hires her and she accepts the job because she needs it desperately. As a condition, she requests a personal assistant. When she is hired, she is clear with her bosses: it is indispensable that her assistant be a woman, since she does not want to work with a man, because the pain that has been inflicted by men on her has been enormous. Juan Camilo, finds out about this request, and understands that this is the only way he can get back into Imperial and clear his situation, protect Isabella and, in as much as possible, win back her heart. The famous loverboy, the grand businessman, he who always looked down on women and rejected them, has no other alternative than to pretend to be a woman to achieve his goals. “Fearless John”, the expert in skillfully disrobing females of their blouses, skirts and stockings, now has to learn to wear them himself. Full of courage, he leaves his apprehensions aside and contradictorily, undertakes a heroic act, worthy of a male: Juan Camilo transgresses gender for of love. Thus, he decides to become “Eva León”, a 55-year-old old maid with undecipherable shapes, a woman that is not at all attractive, an anonymous being with a normal appearance. Juan Camilo enters the female universe believing he dominates it, without imagining what happens in unknown settings, such as women restrooms, saunas or changing rooms in department stores. Eva also shares many of the dramas of the women that work at Imperial. She realizes the few opportunities they have, how male chauvinism is evident in the labor world, and how many of these women are “exploited” by their husbands or boyfriends, to the extent that they even have fist fights with some of them. Eva also suffers when she shares moments with Isabella, since it is difficult to leave his jealousy aside upon discovering that Cristóbal has laid eyes on the woman he loves. He will have to see to it to counteract this union and, as if that were not enough, support the vehement that Jesús, the president of Imperial has undertaken, who has set his eyes on Eva. Having had to endure humiliation, disdain, mistreatment and even sexual harassment, he learns to respect women and, in turn, will discover that “to be a woman, one has to be very brave!”
