Esteban is accused of her death and banished from town. Eleven years later, Esteban returns to San Ventura in a truck full of electrical appliances with hopes of taking over don Frigo’s business and this way settle his score with him. Lolita who up until now has led a miserable life, enduring humiliations by her step mother Carmen believes everything is going to be all right now that Esteban has returned.
Carmen is the woman who bewitched Rigo by giving him love potions, and who took Dolores’ place as soon as she died. Carmen and her family have always nurtured a great doubt in Rigo: that Lolita is not his daughter but that she must be Esteban’s child due to Dolores´ strange behavior towards him. Lolita’s problems don’t end with Esteban’s return. Don Rigo finds out Esteban’s intentions and declares: either he leaves or he dies. But fate plays a strange hand the night Carmen tries to seduce Esteban. Rigo finds out about the romance and dies, leaving Lolita more alone and unprotected than ever. Carmen and her family (Eva, the mother; Beto and Lalo, the brothers) seize the opportunity to kill Lolita and inherit everything. The child barely escapes and runs away. She ends up in Esteban’s truck , who is also running away after being accused of don Rigo’s death. And so Lolita and Esteban begin a new life of adventure, in roads far away from San Ventura. They become fugitives and business partners. Soon Esteban grows attached to Lolita, and he realizes that he cannot continue living with a girl who stirs such confusing feelings in him. Again, it’s time to say good bye. They meet again after six years. Lolita has grown into a beautiful young woman and Esteban realizes she’s the love of his life but she may be forbidden to him, for their love might be a sin.
