Before Leandro's birth, Onofre seems to be a sweet man, excitedly awaiting the arrival of his firstborn. He lives with Nacha, his wife, on a farm owned by his brother Pedro, where he works the land with pride and satisfaction. He becomes a sullen and hard-hearted man, limited in his ability to communicate, and finds it difficult to express his feelings.
