A Corazón Abierto arrives to Our TV

RCN Television’s A CORAZÓN ABIERTO based on the successful series Grey´s Anatomy of DISNEY ABC Studios and created by Shonda Rhimes. This version carried out by Vista Productions, will tell through interesting medical histories the life and emotions that doctors experience at a Hospital. The responsible for supervising this Colombian version of Grey’s Anatomy was the successful screenwriter and now, Product Vice-president of RCN Television: Fernando Gaitán. I think of this version as an interesting challenge, besides being a very attractive product. We had to make some changes because medicine in the United States works perfectly. In Colombia cases of cold medicine practice are very famous, in an attempt to address the issues of money for patients with limited resources there have been many changes. Also a new character was created, a character that works just about that issue, there is a great part of Colombian medicine Gaitan stated. The production A Corazon Abierto is directed by the renowned and prominent Colombian director Sergio Osorio and filmed with 3 cameras in HD (High Definition) to ensure excellent picture and sound quality. This tools, along with incredible special effects, great cast, more than 2. 000 extras, an excellent story and a complex character construction will make the audience unable to leave their TVs. We gather a technical team with more than 100 people, an expert special effect group, and 2.000 extras to be part of this production. Specialized doctors, nurses and anesthesiologists have been present in the filming process of the series, states Silvia Durán, General Producer of the series. In order to achieve a flawless production, it was necessary to build a hospital exclusively for the shootings, taking into account not only hospital regulations, but also the public health standards in the country. This is the first art direction I make for a production; I have always done it for contest shows, so as scenery it was a big challenge, but after arduous research, we could build this hospital in an area of 17,223 sq ft. This was a huge civil work, we had to smash some walls to recreate 4 floors of a hospital in just one, but thanks to the efforts of many people and the passion we feel, we did it says Lucas Jaramillo, Art Director of the Series. Another major challenge faced by the production team was to get the actors to own the medical argot and the mannerisms that drive this world. There was prior training to the recordings, the actors had the opportunity to go to clinics, hospitals, and attend real surgeries. Furthermore, we have a team of doctors who are constantly aware of the scenes involving medical cases and terminology to advise the actors said Sergio Osorio, Production Director. Finally a frontline cast features in A Corazon Abierto and their acting careers will make this production one of the Colombians favorite. We didn’t make the casting aiming for the actors to look like those of the original series, we looked for people with affinity with the character, than for resemblance to the American actor said Fernando Gaitan.
