RCN TELEVISION WILL LEAVE ITS MARK IN THE MAIN INTERNATIONAL MARKETS OF CANNES. Just like in previous years, Canal RCN will take a varied and new catalogue to Booth 09.09 of the MIPTV Fair 2012, taking place in the Palais des Festivals, at Cannes, France, from April 1st through the 4th, highlighting its best productions to delight the European markets with their excellent quality. ´Three Miracles´, ´Blessed ones´, ´House Man´, ´Wait For me´, ´From Riches to Rags´ and ´Policeman of Heart´, are the incredible productions that Canal RCN will use to leave a mark in the main international markets that visit this important fair. During the fair´s four days, both buyers and exhibitors from all around the world will enjoy the channel´s spectacular series and telenovelas that currently lead the TV ratings in Colombia. THREE MIRACLES Series (57x60) To begin the product portfolio, RCN offers the television series ´Three Miracles´, a production that beat every rating record in Colombia, produced in HD, directed by Rodrigo Lalinde and Israel Sanchez, written by Carlos Duplat and Mariela Santofimio, and starring three talented actresses: Johanna Bahamon, Angelica Blandon and Farina Franco. Three Miracles tells the story of three girls named ´Milagros´, born on the same day in different and distant homes, but destiny will unite them through their love for the same man. Ignoring it, they will make a prophesy come true on the day they meet, according to which: “The day when the three Milagros and love meet, Milagros will die.”
THE BUTTERFLY Series (60x60) Another incredible story that RCN Television will introduce to the European market is ´The Butterfly´, an action series based on a true story, completely produced in High Definition and in film format, on locations such as Miami, Mexico´s northern borders, Cartagena and Bogota. The original idea belongs to Gerardo Reyes, a well known journalist who worked in the Research Unit of The Miami Herald and The New Herald for several years, and co-winner of the prestigious Pulitzer award, among many other acknowledgements. Directed by Ricardo Gabrielly and Lillo Vilaplana, The Butterfly was written by Alberto Gonzalez (Albatros) and Augusto Ramirez, and stars Maria Adelaida Puerta and the Argentinean actor Michel Brown. The Butterfly is the story of a love marked by crime and lies. Alicia, an elegant, smart and attractive Colombian woman, is the head of a network of laundering. Manuel Martinez is a brilliant D4 agent, who investigates her transactions with drug trafficking money. This dangerous romance will put at risk the biggest undercover operation of the history of the United States to capture the members this laundering band. A love affair will be born between millions of dollars, but it will pay a high price for this couple´s mistakes. BLESSED ONES Telenovela (121x60) The main characters of this great story, are five beautiful women who live different situations in their everyday life; situations that they will courageously face in order to survive. This incredible story has a first class cast including Kathy Saenz, Alejandra Azcarate, Margarita Ortega, Carolina Cuervo, Jacqueline Arenal and Majida Issa, among other well-known actors of the Colombian television. The story is directed by Juan Carlos Vasquez and Gloria Parra, and written by Luis Felipe Salamanca, Sandra Liliana Montato, Ximena Ospina and Maria Ximena Poveda. ´Blessed ones´ is the story of Helena and her close group of girlfriends: Ana, Candelaria, Irene and Francisca; five women in their higher thirties who have very different life experiences, but at the same time, they share the same things in common: the search for their true selves and for the ´so desired´ happiness. Helena especially portrays the search after facing the death of Carlos, her husband. These women´s universe is complete with Carmen, a humble and tough woman, who will have to face a hostile world in order to raise her son. HOUSE MAN Telenovela (120x60 Est) This comedy is also part of the portfolio that RCN Television will use to conquer the European markets. The incredible production stars the Cuban actor Rolando Tarajano, portraying a man who is expecting a promotion at a bank where he has been working for many years, but due to life´s turns, will find himself in the end taking care of the chores at home. This great story is directed by Ramiro Meneses and Diego Mejia, written by Guido Jacome, Felipe Forero and Diana Gomez. House man has a well-known cast as well that includes Katherine Velez, Marcelo Dos Santos, Margarita Ortega and Julio Cesar Herrera, among others. One Monday, Francisco suffers the biggest turn in his life; he was expecting a promotion at the bank and ends up jobless, full of debt and battling all the problems back at home. He went from being the successful banker, to being the householder, working at a neighborhood store, and divorcing his wife. But later, life turns for him again as he finds love in his neighbor and all kinds of support in every difficult moment he faces. WAIT FOR ME Telenovela (120x60 Est) Another incredible story that RCN Television offers in its catalogue is ‘Wait for me’, a super production under the masterly direction of Herney Luna and Cesar Ibagon, written by Adriana Suarez and Javier Giraldo, and starring Monica Gomez, Sebastian Martinez, Alejandra Borrero and Carlos Benjumea, among others. Wait for me, is the story of Rosa Maria, a woman who supports Alex, her husband, in making his American Dream come true; he lives in New York and his biggest wish is to reunite with Michael, their son, and Rosa Maria, but destiny has other plans for them: Michael is able to travel but Rosa is sent back from the airport and forced to stay in Colombia. Her daily fight from that moment on, will be to find the way to see her son again after finding out that her husband cheated on her. Rosa falls in love again with her boss, but he didn´t know of Michael´s existence and doesn´t know how to forgive Rosa Maria for this deceit. FROM RICHES TO RAGS Telenovela Comedy (120x60 Est) Following the line of comedy that RCN Television offers, we find ´From Riches to Rags´, based on the life of a rich family that loses everything they own and is forced to move to a humble neighborhood where its members must adapt to a life with no luxuries. This comedy is directed by Pepe Sanchez, written by Juan Manuel Cáceres, Hector Moncada and Juan Carlos Troncoso, and has a great cast that includes Paola Rey, Juan Pablo Raba, Maria Helena Doering and Antonio Sanint, among others. The Rico family meets the Siachoque family and their lives will now be intertwined forever. They will ultimately understand that love, solidarity, and union are the things that make them happy, not money; that they shouldn´t get attached to material things or luxuries, but instead they should enjoy life with everything it brings: the good and the bad. After all, a rich person isn´t the one who has more, but the one who needs less. POLICEMAN OF HEART Series (80x60 Est) And for the great finale in the offer catalogue, we find ´Policeman of Heart´, a police story that combines action and drama. Directed by Israel Sanchez and Juan Felipe Cano, written by Rafael Noguera, Ana Maria Londoño and Juan Andres Rendon, this production stars Majida Issa and Andres Sandoval. ´Policeman of Heart´ tells the story of Diana and Raul, two police officers who patrol the dangerous streets of Bogota and fall in love with each other. But Diana, honorable and righteous, has decided to set her heart on pause until she finds her daughter´s father, a non-commissioned officer, Vicente Yañez, who was kidnapped by the guerrillas six years ago. When everybody else assumes he´s dead, Diana decides to stop mourning, set aside her pain and let her feelings for Raul run loose. However, destiny has prepared a difficult surprise for them: Vicente is rescued, safe and sound, and he returns home to take his place in Diana´s life.
