He is the head of the arms trafficking business. He lives in a mansion surrounded by servants and bodyguards, opulence and excesses. Don Yaír comes from the poor, working class. He is crafty, calculating and very good business man, more feared than respected, he is always alert. Don Yaír treats his employees well and pays them accordingly; this is why they would give their lives for him. Even so, he is sanguinary and implacable. His number one enemy is Javi. HELENA, his wife, must control him so his enemies can´t see his weaknesses. Yaír and his wife love each other, but he has an old firendship with DOÑA CLEMENCIA. This causes problems in their marriage. Don Yaír is addicted to puzzles.

Javier is a cold and calculating sly character, an egotistical narcissist. He is absolutely reserved and hermetic. He belongs to the upper middle class. He made up that his family had died in an accident, but the reality is that they have a bad relationship. Javier resents them because they didn´t support him after an accident where his youngest sister, the only person he has truly cared for, dies. JULIANA has an extraordinary resemblance to his deceased sister, and for this he becomes obsessed with her and incorporates Guillermo into his affairs. "El Javi" is only worried about himself. He wants to take over the complete arms trafficking cartel and to do this, he must get DON YAIR, the head of the organization, out of his way.

He is MARÍA LUISA´s  husband. He is not very handsome, but he has his charm. He works as an electrician in a mechanical workshop. He is a very basic man, with a strong character but no grand aspirations in life. Even though he loves his children, he is not very skilled in his family ties. He sees María Luisa more as the mother of his kids than as his wife and lover. For this reason, he has courted other woman for years. He leaves María Luisa because RAQUEL (his lover at the time) is pregnant. When he suspects María Luisa might be seeing another man, he goes crazy and decides he wants to have her back. But he acts mistakenly, so that every encounter they have, deepens the distance between them.

He always gets what he wants, he is a happy kid, very common and mature for his age because of the economic difficulties and his parent´s situation, but he never stops being the child that seeks his mother´s affection. His conflict arises when he starts mimicking his brother and idol GUILLERMO. He will repeat everything he does, including swearing and his way of speaking. Kike will enjoy, like no other, the car or the motorcycle or modern TV´s his brother brings home. María Luisa will try to protect him from his bad example.  

Juliana, the fourth child from the marriage, is the sunshine in the Suarez household. She is finishing high school and is a good student. Juliana is her mother´s biggest support. She is sweet and shy, but also very mature. She is everyone´s favorite sister. She dreams of going to college, finding her significant other and raising a family like her mother did. Juliana is at ease with her social class, for she knows she can succeed just like María Luisa and Enrique did. Javier falls in love with her and uses his power to make sure she feels the same, even achieving that Juliana leaves MIGUEL, her beloved boyfriend.

Francisco is the second child of the marriage. He goes to school, works, plays basketball and has a good relationship with María Luisa. He is the prototype of a good son and a good human being. He confronts Enrique, his father, because he makes his mother suffer. He studies business administration  at night and works during the day in the mechanical workshop with ENRIQUE to help his mother with their home expenses. He is a good basketball player and his coach, FATHER TOÑO, has all his hopes on his abilities and wants to get him to play in the regional basketball league. ADRIANA, Francisco´s girlfriend of two years and love of his life, starts demanding more time from him and soon their relationship will deteriorate.

Victoria is María Luisa and Enrique´s third child. She is a pretty and fun young girl, with a pungent and biting sense of humor. She loves parties, is very flirtatious and tends to fall in love quite fast. She recently graduated from high school and up to now, she has been doing much, not even helping her mother. She would like to be wealthy and a public figure. Victoria and her friend MIRIAM have decided they don´t want to be like their mothers, so they get  involved in prostitution. Her relationship with her parents is not easy. Victoria is being courted by JAIMITO, whom she considers dumb, weak and dull.

He is MARÍA LUISA and ENRIQUE´s eldest son. Guillermo is ambitious. He enjoys having money, but is not willing to make any effort to earn it. Therefore, he relies on his charm to achieve whatever he desires. He considers Enrique a loser. Even though he loves María Luisa, they have a complicated relationship for she tries to intervene in his life to correct his mistakes. Because of his boundless aspiration of giving his mother the life she deserves, he ends up immerse in illegal businesses with Richard, his long time friend and partner, battling between good and evil. Guillermo lead CAMILA, a socialite, into falling in love with him using lies and with the help of JAVI, great villain of the story, who becomes his boss.

He is kind, chivalrous, with a great sense of humor. He is hard working and good looking. He comes from a family with strong values, yet they were not very wealthy. He widowed and took care of his two kids with whom he lived abroad for a few years. His daughter suffered from polio as a child and because of that she has physical disabilities, but he treats her as if she was completely normal. Although Andrés has had a tough life, he overcomes adversity with optimism and humor. He returns to the country because of a work proposal: becoming the Operation Manager in the hotel where María Luisa, the woman he will fall in love with, works. 

María Luisa is, above all, a mother dedicated to her five children and providing for them with a low wage. She is a strong and humble woman who has been married to Enrique, the only man she has ever loved, for the past 26 years. For ten years she has worked as a hotel maid where she finds her best friends. María Luisa discovers that another woman is carrying Enrique´s baby, so she must overcome the pain of the separation and take care of her kids by herself. However, not before long ANDRE, the new Operation Manager, arrives. They will start a beautiful friendship that will turn into love.
