SYNOPSIS

The love which Paulina and Juan Pablo had lasted until their thirties; a moment in life when as most human beings do, they realised that life’s true challenges had just begun, and that it takes more than planning in order to successively survive in a relationship. Juan Pablo had promised himself that he would not repeat his fathers home abandonment story, but he could not deny the fact that his relationship with Paulina had suffered an erosion which left him cold. Juan Pablo could not face Paulina, he could not shatter her dream castle of an ever lasting marriage specially her who never contemplated a divorce in her life. Paulina is stunned, astonished when her husband tells her that he has decided to leave their home product of a crisis generated by an affair he is having with his partner Alejandra, who also happens to be married. Clara, Jimena and Patricia are all like Paulina, in their thirties, and are all, close friends. They have each, in their own way, gone through their personal “thirties” crisis, and for this reason, are the perfect raft for Paulina to hold on to during her storm. Juan Pablo, confused and with a heavy guilt feeling, finds support in his mother, a woman who though many years have gone by, never recovered from her husband’s abandonment. Instead of moping and feeling sorry for herself, Paulina decides to face her luck with courage and style, and searches for a new beginning, a brighter horizon for herself and her two children Andrea and Sebastian. She decides to put into practice for the first time her studies and her degree as an architect. Juan Pablo’s luck is less fortunate; deciding to move in with Alejandra, he finds himself deeper in unhappiness. Juan Pablo is betrayed by his mistress. Distressed both emotionally and physically, Juan Pablo finds himself living alone, while Paulina, who needs him less and less each day, is constantly pursued by positive suitors, such as Nicolas, who are willing to form a loving relationship with her and her children. Before she gives into a commitment with Nicolas, Paulina decides to inquire about Juan Pablo and his life, and when she finds him lonely, heartbroken and miserable, she realises she still loves him.
