Nights with Luciana

SYNOPSIS

Joaquin Morales is a "modern day Tarzan", born and raised in a Caribbean island, La Hermosa (the beautiful one), with the most spectacular scenery in the world (that should be a natural reserve). Joaquin has never gone to Bogota and the biggest city he has ever seen is Puerto Bello. But Joaquin does not need or lack anything and whatever he is missing he invents or finds a way to come up with it. He spends his days making strange machines and solving domestic problems in the region, carpenter, mechanic and fisherman, Joaquin knows his environment and controls it like no one else. He is part of Mother Nature, a strange creature, another species on its way to extinction. He grew up, like everyone else in the island, without potable water, without electricity, because in Isla la Hermosa one lives as if one were living un the last century. Until one day a TV set arrives to the island and curiosity changes it all. The TV set turns on. There is great awe when everyone discovers that within the little magical box there is a spectacular woman anchoring a show. The program is called: Luciana's NIghts, and Luciana, the anchor person for the show, has left half of the island's population without breath but in particular has affected Joaquin, who can not believe there can be so much beauty, so much charm, so many smiles and body form in one creature all together. Luciana Rivas, who is now 32 years old, is a successful TV presenter and entrepreneur (owner of a famous cosmetics and beauty creams firm that carries her name) that lives in another world. Accustomed to having thousands of aids and assistants that chose every thing starting with her breakfast and clothes, Luciana lives and works to upkeep her image of a woman that has it all: fame, fortune, charm, admirers and thousands of pretenders. Luciana believes that she has the perfect life, but in reality, in spite of her fame and money, she has not discovered love. And she has not fallen in love because she does not set-aside anytime for it. When she was young she thought of it as an obstacle to her career. Then, when she meets Joaquin Morales things change. He, after many vicissitudes in the city, manages to get close to her posing as a masseur and leaves in her a strong first impression. However, all points to him never having another opportunity to see her again Joaquin must go back to the island and Luciana must continue with her hectic life. Luciana Rivas will have to pick between her lifestyle and a life in an island lost in the middle of the sea... between Joaquin and José Miguel (the channel's president and her boss). Her own life or that of others. The decision is not easy, but after many failures, back and forth, in terms of happiness, Luciana decides to think of herself first for the first time in her life: She decides to go to "La Hermosa", willing to forget her renown, her fame and her image and willing to start from scratch.
