He is Silvino's twin younger brother, who he has always followed, not out of out of fear.  At the beginning he falls in love of Romania, but after the girl was raped, his life changes because he loses her trace and after being accused of such horrible act and serving jail time for violation and for the accidental death of "Brisa Quieta's" Mayor, Silvio starts to do everything he can in order to differentiate himself from his twin brother and he even falls in love with Sandrita Daza, the ugliest girl in town, who might be, the only person, who lends him a hand when he is in total disgrace. Nevertheless his twin's brand seems to never end and he threatens him with ending his life. So they arrange a radical meeting where Silvino dies and Silvio's life is transformed, leaving him exonerated of any guilt.

He is the hoodlum of the novel. a young man, very spoiled, emboldened by his mother Mema. He is the typical brainless street bully, cynical, artful and irresponsible, who knows that his crimes are shielded  by his family's past social economic position. His cruelty passes the line to sadism, that's why who sees him is disgusted by his acts, and at the same time feared by the entire town. The truth of it all is that he is just his mother's puppet, exhibiting serious emotional voids. His psychological complexity is because his Oedipus complex is bigger than the one his twin has: Silvino is convinced that his masculinity would be feminized if he shows any trace of kindness in the way he acts. For him, violence is the only way to deserve respect, and that’s why it overgrows him and dies as a victim of it.

She is as chauvinist as anyone can be, she differentiates clearly men's from women's functions: men get to do physical labor efforts that protect woman, reason why - in spite of her psychological manipulation - one way or the other she considers them to be superior. If they are bullies and bash type, she admires them even more, and that is some personal traces that she tries to impose on her twin kids. Physically she is fragile and defenseless, but emotionally she is a very manipulative woman, twisted and dramatic: she makes a show out of everything. She is a villain that does everything for money, and she doesn't mind if she has to bully her own family.

On contraire of her two sisters Evangelina and Mema, Faride is a woman of the world who had the guts to leave her house at a young age, right after her father forced her sister to marry the love of her life, Eduardo Bula, Vicente's father. After suffering and living so many things, she feels secure of her acts. She founded a radio station with her nephew, not in order to become rich, but to educate her people, giving them a wider vision of the world and making them value the "Porro" culture and  Arab gastronomy. Due to her independent character, she does not believe in anyone, but she is not conflictive. On the contrary, she smiles and flirts all the time, she does her things with such diplomacy that in some cases you might confuse it with sweetness.

Soledad's false mother. She is a villain in every sense of the word. She does not have one scrupulous fiber in her body, apparently caused by the bitterness that her heart keeps originated by two factors: her husband's early passing  and since he was the only love she ever had in her life, she never could get over it and her son's death when he was only a child. There is a deep bitterness that Delfina manifests denying everyone else what she lost with her son's and husband's death. Bitter and convinced that life owes her something, she has a brutal and hardened heart that shows how obscure and fearsome a human being can be. Due to all this resentment she carries inside, she is ambitious, merciless and capable of the biggest cruelty.

She is a spoiled brat and a very needy one that thinks that, due to her social position, she deserves it all. She only cares about what others have to say about things, precisely because she criticizes and judges everybody from a very provincial point of view, because her universe does not surpass the society of her small town. She is very critical, but she hates to be criticized, well- She knows that her grandparents founded Brisa Quieta - so she feels she comes from a better family than everybody else. Her constant mistakes and her life experiences wake some sort of emotional intelligence that lead her to fight for harmony and  her well being.

Our main character is, over all, a woman that has a very big spirit of freedom. As she was raised isolated from the rest of the world, human conflicts and material concerns, Soledad is a sensual woman, without shame or shyness, who always acts in a natural way. Since she lost her sight at a very early age she hasn't been able to compare herself fiscally with others, instead, she lets her instincts guide her, particularly her sense of smell. As The Little Prince would say, "Pretty is not what you can see with your eyes but what you can feel with your heart": precisely because she is blind, Soledad sees beauty in everything, not only in the things that surround her, but in the people that surround her as well. She sings and dances with great grace and is very talented at it, thanks to  "La Negra" and the ""Mulato Lezama", she has been able to develop high professional prestige.

He is an extraordinary charismatic young man, reflexive and with a very calm character, as he grew up without his father (although his grandfather Faud played this role), he has an acute sense of honor and an enormous paternal responsibility, denying his alleged son with Amira Rebeca, her forced wife and first cousin, to follow his same path. He is passionate with his region's culture, particularly "porro", and that's why, along with his aunt Faride, he works at "La Voz del Sinu"", a radio station of their property, that they founded struggling to achieve a dream: Give their town "Brisa Quieta" a voice and be a part of the region's musical history.

Vicente lives an almost impossible love , because he falls in love with Soledad, at the same time he is engaged to his first cousin and is trapped by an alleged  pregnancy, a result of a wild night out. While everything related to Amira is a lie, everything related to Soledad is totally true. As a product of an intense love relation, Soledad is now expecting Lucia, Vicente's child and this opens the gate to an intense persecution process, where as an antagonist another young Doctor participates, Dr. Zarur, a very envious man jealous of Faride and Vicente's musical world that surrounds Soledad, the beautiful blind that's the bone of contention.
