SYNOPSIS
Sofia and Antonio cannot be more different from each other. However destiny has decided to keep them together in many situations and places. They both come to live in the Caribbean city of Santa Marta, she as the owner of a restaurant, he as a successful executive who works for a multinational corporation. Sofia, born in the city of Barranquilla, is a middle class Hotel Business Administrator, who has all the typical characteristics of a woman from her region: she is loud, extroverted, uncomplicated, uninhibited woman, with an excellent sense of humor, direct in her manners, and of course, she loves “vallenato”* rhythm. He is a high class Petroleum Engineer born in the cold city of Bogota, a strict, scheduled, quiet, introverted and uptight individual who loves classical music. Their encounters, or better, their bumpy run ins, begin the first evening Antonio (The “Cachaco”**) arrives to Santa Marta when he cannot fall asleep due to the loud music being played at his neighbors apartment; where the beautiful Sofia (The “Costeña”***) is partying and could care less about how upset her new neighbor is. What begins as a simple argument between neighbors almost becomes a habit. It is practically impossible not to bump into each other in such a small city; at the grocery store, a restaurant, at the movies or at the beach, but at the office? This love story does not seem to be between two but between four, since before they meet both Sofia and Antonio have their own relationships. Antonio is engaged to a woman who fits perfectly in his life, and knows his likes and dislikes. Sofia on the other hand is involved in a relationship with a man from Barranquilla, who as most of the men in the region, is a male chauvinist, an extremely jealous man who is not about to let a dull, spiritless “Cachaco” take his woman!
