Synopsis

There are three women in every man’s life: the one he loves and will never have; the one who wants to be with him, whom he will never want… and the one he’s stuck with. These three women make up the entangled life our alpha male. After a tumultuous travesty across the United States of America, Miami to be exact, and after having lived the “American dream” in for himself, punker GERMAN returns to the neighborhood to, in his words, reclaim his turf (THE HOOD), his female (THAT JASBLEIDY GIRL) and his offspring (THAT JONATHAN KID). Upon arriving to the neighborhood, he finds that Mrs. Graciela has started a Gym and sees the place as the perfect hunting ground. However, not all will go well for our alpha male.
However, things are not easy for our ALPHA MALE because as soon as he gets there he finds two pebbles in his shoe: on the one hand, his turf has been invaded by CALIXTO, some long-haired football coach that hits on all the females… and on the other, JASBLEIDY, the love of his life, is happily married to 8 BALL, his longtime rival… His only comfort is JONATHAN (a.k.a. THE TIGER), his cub, who feels like the happiest kid in the world when he’s with his dad… Another point chalked up to our ALPHA MALE is his unconditional friend FRITO, who, as always, is with him “no matter what”, through thick and thin, along with his two punk pals RISITAS and BULTOESAL. To this universe of characters we add Mrs. Graciela, whom after being married to a rich foreigner, now has a fancy neighborhood gym and a much better shop than she had before… and PATTY, a woman from Santander that’ll talk your ear off and who is keeping her eye on GERMAN, with whom she is in love. And so, on one side we have JASBLEIDY, the ex that will never again want anything to do with German but who will always be a pebble in his shoe and will make him fail at most of his mating attempts; on the other, PATTY, the “intense” one, who will want to be with him always, but he will never want to be with her… and finally, GRACIELA, the one he is stuck with. After each failed attempt at scoring, German ends up next to Mrs. Graciela, the woman he is stuck with. This colorful and popular universe of characters and portrayal of neighborhood life will play out in “GERMAN IS THE MAN”, a fun-filled comedy where we will see they daily lives of the ordinary Colombian: the harsh scrounging for work, the solidarity, the hope, loves and rivalries, the “pulling-your-leg”, playing hooky from work and all of the flaws and virtues that are “all too Colombian”.

Synopsis

After leaving a husband that battered her and sending her four children to live with Rosa, her mother, Yamile Caicedo finds her new love with Samuel Medina, a police officer with whom she has her fifth daughter, Maureen Belky. Yamile discovers her girl has great musical talent and decides to work hard on her and boost her singing skills. After getting back together with her children, she focuses in Maureen’s career. Several people help her in her quest. Peter Pinilla, a mariachi director leads the girl into popular music. Later, in Santa Marta, Leonidas Prieto in a street show and finally Bruno del Romero in Cali, an artistic agent takes the girl to a television contest called ‘Pacific Stars’ and rockets Maureen to local stardom. Back in Bogotá, however, Yamile takes her girl to a variety show that gives Maureen enormous popularity throughout the country.
During her teen period, Maureen meets a musician from Bogotá who enthralled by her voice and talent invites her to take part in a tecno-carrilera project he had been working on for a while. This event marks the beginning of Marbelle and the presentation of her most popular song: ‘Collar de Perlas’. Maureen’s success spreads quickly throughout the country; tours, acknowledgement, money and some problems with her mother come along with her life. Yamile tries by all means to have control on her daughter; she does not allow her to lead a normal life or to have any kind of contact with men. These restrictions, however, spark off the flame of revelry in Maureen as well as a strong and determined temper. She gets involved with a folk singer at her mother’s back and loses her virginity with him but the long distance between them does not let their relationship consolidate. Some time later, in San Vicente del Caguán, in the middle of negotiation talks held between a guerrilla group and President Pastrana’s administration she meets Royne Chávez, security chief at Nariño Palace. Chávez tries to conquer her. He showers her with attention but when she is told he is married, she walks out on him.

Some time later, however, Royne gets divorced and they get back together. Since Yamile does not approve her daughter’s relationship, Maureen decides to leave home and move to an apartment Royne has rented for her. At the beginning, his love is luxurious and sweeter than honey. But the moment they move in together, Royne becomes a violent man, a heavy drinker that continuously batters Maureen. He even stops her musical career while Pastrana’s administration. Despite their complicated situation, they marry and have a baby girl, Rafaela.
From then, on, Maureen’s life becomes a string of unfortunate events. Her mother dies during a liposuction surgery and her husband is charged with illegal enrichment and then sent to jail. After his arrest, he becomes an insecure and terribly jealous man that never stops ill-treating her. Undermined by her present situation, Maureen decides to put an end to their relationship and is left all alone with her daughter and a car. Totally free to make her own decisions, she decides to do what she likes most, despite her ex-husband constant attacks. During this new stage, she meets Sergio, a musician of popular music that plays at a bar in Bogotá who supports her fully despite her economic misfortune. But very soon, her situation comes to a turning point. She is invited to participate as member of the jury in the Colombian version of ‘American Idol’ where she realizes her audience still follows her. Popularity, new tours and money crown her efforts. Maureen begins to walk a new stage in her life full of illusions and opportunities: performances, musical production and a new chance in love next to Sergio and her daughter Rafaela.

Synopsis

This is Rosario’s story who was born and raised in the city slums and became a legend in her own time. Regardless of her upbringing Rosario’s beauty captivated the heart of two upper class men: Antonio and Emilio.

Our story starts with Antonio rushing to the Hospital an agonizing Rosario who had been shot four times by a hit man. Antonio who by this time is madly in love with Rosario, sits with despair in the hospital’s waiting room as our story brings us to the beginnings that give rise to the present.
Rosario stands out within her cruel habitat by her beauty and passion and sadly her surroundings at a very young age turn her into a hired killer. Constantly battered, harassed, assaulted by those around her, Rosario becomes an aggressor herself. In contrast Antonio, a young architect who also stand out for his looks, grows in a complete and opposite environment.

Naive and idealistic by nature, Antonio is smitten after Rosario in a high school dare; she passionately kisses him in front of the whole school. Rosario is severely punished for her prank, situation which she personally handles by menacing the school authority with her signature weapon, a pair of scissors. Not being able to erase Rosario from his lips and heart Antonio ask his best friend Emilio to avidly search for this mysterious woman throughout the whole town.

Antonio and Rosario’s paths will cross in various occasions and with each encounter he will fall deeper in love with this wild and daring girl. After being expelled from school, Rosario and her friend Dayra join a drug mob led by the Pope, a man who is obsessed with young maidens. The Pope ends up murdering Dayra in a brutal way. In an act of self defense, Rosario avenges her friend’s death and kills the fierce drug-dealer. This is the second time Rosario will show the murderess in her. The first time was when armed with a pair of scissors Rosario murders a young boy who had raped her. These two events give Rosario her signature name and from now on everyone will know her as Rosario Scissors. Antonio efforts are fruitless and he completely looses track of the woman he is obsessed by.

It is not until four years later that Rosario Scissors now a popular and desirable character once again once again appears into Antonio and Emilio’s life. One evening at a local night club surrounded by her gang friends Emilio from a distance falls for Rosario irresistible beauty. Rosario who’s at that place to carry out her latest hit job which she performs flawlessly and quietly within the men’s room. Rosario efficiently carries out the murder of a drug dealer accused of betraying his partners. By chance this encounter will start a passionate love affair between Rosario and Emilio. Overwhelmed by confusion Antonio will witness in silence finding out that this is the same woman he has been quietly obsessed with for the past years. Rosario and Emilio’s torrid and passionate love affair is suddenly ended when she is seriously wounded by Ferney, another local hit man. Ferney who was hired by her enemies to eliminate her accepts this job regardless of the fact that he is also Rosario’s official man. Antonio witnesses the murder attempt and sets out in a frantic race to save the life of the woman he has loved the most and whom he has never been able to have.

Her brother JohnEfe in a risky and courageous operation steals her from the hospital ICU unit to prevent her to face the consequences of her actions. At the same time innocent Antonio is arrested and accused of attempted murder and of Rosario’s disappearance. Ironically Antonio believes that Rosario is dead. It is not until by another twist of fate that Rosario reappears into Antonio’s life. Rosario has orchestrated a plan to get Antonio out of jail without realizing he is opposing to her plan. Being the weak character that he is, he ends up accepting and thus becoming a fugitive. Antonio escape not only will cost him totally sacrificing his life and social status at the same time this new status will allow him to fall into a world that will let him to truly express his feelings and love for Rosario.

Synopsis

Pedro Pablo Leon Jaramillo is The Lord; a drug-trafficker that remained 25 years in the anonymity, but five years ago Eliecer Manchola a journalist brought him out in the open before the world to see who the largest drug-trafficker of all times was; the man who exported the largest amount of drugs and who had accumulated the largest wealth. The Lord; achieved his fortune together with his associate Aristobulo Vanegas, with whom he managed to remain in hiding thanks to Almeida, his front man, the man who always showed up during the course and actions of all their drug and the illicit business. Out in the open and vulnerable The Lord decides to be avenged of his informer; he orders three death hires on his squealer and immediately goes into hiding together with his life time buddy.

During this traumatic period of his life, The Lord decides to build himself a hiding bunker where he could be completely protected from the pursuit of the authorities and would also act as a safety deposit place for him to keep the world’s largest cash fortune: 20 billion dollars.

Marcela Liévano, Manchola’s girlfriend, decides to avenge her fiancées death and initiates her personal plan to get near Pedro Pablo Leon Jaramillo. To achieve her plans she submits herself to plastic surgery that will change her appearance and attract his attention. Marcela then publicly declares her interest in interviewing him. What Marcela cannot imagine or expect is that what had started with a profound feeling of hatred will quickly evolve to her loving the man who has hurt her the most! She will accompany him within the bunker, in his flights and in his tricks when deceiving the government and during journey she will meet Isabel Cristina, The Lords’ faithful wife; that cannot forgive her husband’s betrayal and though she loves him more than her life she is not willing to allow him to be happy with any other woman.

Moments after a heated argument with her husband, Isabel Cristina receives a phone call from one of Pedro Pablo’s informants. She anxiously looks for him throughout the house to hand him the phone which will bring to him the bad news but it is her who will be jolted by pain when she finds her husband in bed with his mistress Marcela Lievano, a well known journalist. Isabel Cristina falls apart; not even in her worst nighmares would she ever imagine this, and much less within her own house! But she has no time to feel the pain, to argue because the call that Pedro Pablo receives immediately alerts him of a nearby pursuit on him, he barely has minutes to flee. The Lord takes with him to his secret bunker his security people, his brother, his mistress, and his wife. No one with the exception of himself and his brother Nacho know this place’s existence. Isabel Cristina refuses to go with him, especially when she is told that both her and his mistress would be in this place at the same time. Pedro Pablo who is used to getting his way knocks her out and has her carried unconcious.

On her side Julieta and Juan Carlos The Lords children who by choice use a different surname that The Lord, remain on their toes waiting on his father’s possible capture. Julieta is well informed of all the details, of every step the national army is taking since by life’s coincidences her boyfriend is the son to the country’s ministry of defense – though no one is aware of this machiavelic fact. It is this way that Juan Carlos finds about the place and plan organized against his father and decides its his duty to go and warn him. All these steps by both children will have to be done from their undercover alias since no one is aware of their true identities.

While the army’s helicopters using their best men draw near The Lord asks his men as well as his mistress to get rid of their cell phones since they will be going to a place where no cell phones are allowed – having a cell phone will make them an easy prey to the army’s hunting devices. No one hesitates and obeys. When they reach their hiding place they are able to watch the house from the surveillance monitors that were previously installed in strategic places where no one will notice them. Filled with joy they are about to celebrate their successful escape when a cell phone rings. The Lords life reaches a climax and shifts, moving in slow motion he screams at both his women and his trusting security men that they are all dead!

The Lord and all those with him will suffer a jolt and shift to their lives. Isabel Cristina will start to uncover the most abhorring facts on their lives which her husband had managed to hide from her for the past 30 years. Julieta and Juan Carlos will suffer the consequences of being the children to The Drug Lord. Marcela in turn will have to face her true feelings and emotions. The Lords fear of ever being imprisoned will make him loose perspective and will act in desperation putting his family in risk. Desperate to find who it was who had betrayed him he will make careless mistakes which will drive him down a death cliff.
