OUR TELE SHONE ITS OWN LIGHT IN CARTAGENA

RCN TELEVISION TOOK THE AWARDS FOR BEST SERIES AND BEST TELENOVELA OF THE YEAR Canal RCN´s productions were the big winners at the twenty-eighth edition of the India Catalina Awards, which took place on Saturday, February 25th, framed in the International Film Festival of Cartagena. Our Tele took home 20 awards, including Best Telenovela, Best Series, Best Director, both of a Series as well as of a Telenovela, Best Leading Actor and Actress of a Series, among others. ´El Joe´, the story based on the life of one of the best interpreters of the Caribbean music: Alvaro Jose Arroyo, better known as ´Joe Arroyo´, was the big winner of the night, with eight statuettes highlighting the awards for Best Telenovela, Best Script (Andres Salgado and Natalia Ospina), Best Director (Henry Luna), Best Soundtrack (Nicolas Uribe), Best Post-Production (Catalina Garcia), and Best Photography (Jaime Gavilan). On the other hand, Jair Romero, the production´s leading actor, took the award for New Artist of the Year; and also, Andres Suarez, received the award for Best Antagonist Actor of a Telenovela. ´Traffic With The Innocent´, with eight statuettes took the night´s victory with the most awards in the series category. The story that approached the tough world of human couriers, received the award for Best Series, Best Photography (Diego Jimenez and Andres Gutierrez), Best Original Script (Ana Maria Londoño and Rafael Noguera), Best Series Director (Klych Lopez and Felipe Cano). Adding to the celebration, Margarita Rosa de Francisco won the award for Best Leading Actress, while Laura Garcia and Ricardo Leguizamo received the Best Supporting Actress and Actor in the same genre. Also, Cristina Campuzano achieved the award for Best Antagonist Actress. Another one of the recognitions that Our Tele earned was Santiago Alarcon´s Best Leading Actor award for ´German is the Man ´; Andrea Serna, from ´The XS Factor´ took home the statuette for Best Entertainment or Variety Hostess. The Best Literary Work or Script Adaptation award was achieved by Carlos Duplat and Luz Mariela Santofimio for ´Three Miracles´, a production that also got the award for Best Post- Production, achieved by Elsa Vasquez. During the ceremony, a posthumous tribute was made for Monica Agudelo, one of the best script writers of our times, creator of successful television stories like ´Ms. Isabel´, ´The Mariachi´s Daughter´, ´La Costeña y el Cachaco´, ´The Power of True Love´, among others. Margarita Rosa de Francisco, was the actress who gave the memorial plaque to Felipe Agudelo, the writer´s brother.
